EF Coaching
Our Services
Executive Functioning Coaching helps students build the core brain-based skills needed to manage daily life, learning, and relationships.
These skills include:
• Planning and organization
• Focus and sustained attention
• Working memory and follow-through
• Self-control and impulse regulation
• Emotional regulation and stress management
• Time management
• Social awareness and communication
Rather than teaching what to learn, EF Coaching focuses on how students manage themselves, their emotions, and their responsibilities — skills that influence success in every area of life.
Tutoring focuses on academic content (math, reading, writing, test prep).
EF Coaching focuses on the skills that allow students to use what they already know.
Many students understand the material but struggle to:
• Start tasks
• Stay focused
• Remember instructions
• Manage frustration
• Follow through independently
EF Coaching addresses these underlying challenges directly. While we may use practice tasks or school-related materials, they are tools for building skills, not academic instruction.
No. EF Coaching is not therapy and does not replace mental health treatment.
EF Coaching is:
• Skill-based
• Action-oriented
• Long-term-focused
We do not diagnose, treat mental health conditions, or process trauma.
If a student is working with a therapist, EF Coaching often complements that work by helping translate insight into daily habits and behaviors. We do, however, partner with a network of therapists who we can provide referrals to, as needed.
Executive functioning skills develop through consistent practice over time.
Some families notice early shifts within a few weeks (less resistance, more awareness), while deeper changes, like independence, emotional regulation, and sustained habits, typically unfold over several months.
This work prioritizes lasting skill development, not quick fixes.
EF Coaching is especially helpful for students who:
• Are bright but underperforming
• Feel overwhelmed or “stuck”
• Struggle with motivation or follow-through
• Have difficulty managing emotions or stress
• Have ADHD-like challenges (with or without a diagnosis)
• Need support becoming more independent and self-directed
It’s also effective for students who appear “fine” academically but lack confidence, resilience, or self-management skills.
If your child:
• Needs constant reminders
• Melts down under pressure
• Avoids tasks they’re capable of
• Struggles with independence or confidence
…EF Coaching may be a strong fit.
We recommend starting with a free discovery call (https://www.reachthroughedu.com/get-in-touch)so we can understand your child’s needs and determine whether our approach is right for you.
