The 5 Elements of Our
REACH Methodology

We infuse each and every one of our coaching sessions with these core principles, which guide both the tone and content of our lessons. They provide a compass for students and coaches to collaboratively develop a constructive, well-rounded mindset when it comes to approaching all the challenges and joys of life.

Resilience

We help guide children to develop the strength and perseverance they need to overcome the obstacles and setbacks they will naturally encounter in life. We believe that failure can be the one of the best teachers and it’s nothing to be afraid of! When we approach setbacks as learning opportunities, we become more equipped to face challenges with tenacity and a positive mindset, which is essential for long-term success.

Hands Up

Empathy

We emphasize the importance of relating to the emotions of others, not only to better understand them, but also to better understand ourselves. By cultivating curiosity for expanding our worldview, students learn how to form meaningful relationships, communicate effectively, and create a supportive community around them, no matter where they go in life.

Adaptability

We encourage mental flexibility and the ability to adjust to new situations and environments. Developing adaptability ensures that children can respond to change and uncertainty with inner-assurance, preparing them for a rapidly evolving world. Students gain the confidence to tackle unfamiliar challenges by learning how to reflexively update their strategy in real time, allowing them to succeed in a variety of shifting circumstances while building a strong foundation for a lifelong solution-oriented mindset.

Character

We focus on instilling strong moral values and integrity between words and actions. By guiding our students to develop good character — traits like honesty, kindness, respect, and responsibility — they are more capable of making ethical decisions when no one's watching, building trust with themselves and others, and becoming principled and dependable individuals.

"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny."

Health

We take a holistic view of health, recognizing that physical well-being and mental/emotional well-being are deeply interconnected and continually influence one another. Just as habits like movement, nutrition, and rest support the body, patterns such as self-talk, stress management, and the content we consume all shape our internal health. By teaching principles of both physical and mental hygiene, we help support the whole child in mind and body, so growth is sustainable and integrated.

"When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot manifest, strength cannot fight, wealth becomes useless, and intelligence

cannot be applied."  - Herophilus
